How My Faith Helps Me Be a Better Mom

Motherhood is messy, unpredictable, and sometimes scary. When worry creeps in, when schedules fall through, when I don’t feel good enough, or when I feel insecure as a mom, I have God. I lean on Him and I pray.

Prayer is not just my personal anchor but a family practice. Every night our daughter looks forward to praying with Mama and Daddy. She even says “Jesus” every time we pray.

We ask for protection over her, for wisdom in raising her, and for peace in our hearts. These moments remind me I am not alone and that our family is held in God’s care even when life feels overwhelming.

Scripture keeps me grounded. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds me, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

These truths give me courage and calm even on the hardest days.

Faith does not make motherhood perfect, but without it, I wouldn’t be the mother or the woman I am every day.
