Ministry in Motherhood

Motherhood can feel unpredictable and sometimes scary. When worry and fear creep in, when schedules fall through, when I don’t feel good enough to be a mom and feel insecure, I remember that I have God. I lean on Him and I pray aloud.

Prayer is so powerful as a parent. If we’re to lead our children without fear and insecurity, with true strength, courage, consistency, and love… praying is the answer.

Scripture reminds us:

James 5:16

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

Mark 11:24

“Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17

“Pray without ceasing”

Philippians 4:6-7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by doing prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Prayer is not just my personal anchor but a family practice. Every night our daughter looks forward to praying with Mama and Daddy. She even says “Jesus” every time we pray.

We ask for protection over her, for wisdom in raising her, and for peace in our hearts. These moments remind me I am not alone and that our family is held in God’s hands. The weight of parenthood becomes lighter.

These verses continually ground me:

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Faith does not make motherhood perfect, but without it, I wouldn’t be the parent or the woman I am every day. Never stop praying.
